Rutini Collecion Malbec 2016 - Malbec
Rutini, the first winery
to plant vineyards in Tupungato in 1925. Today, their vineyards in the Uco
Valley covers around 400 hectares, with altitudes ranging from 900 to 1,300. A
winery focused on high-end wines from the beginning. It was born “premium.” This
gorgeous Rutini Malbec is a classic, new world style of Malbec that is lively, full
of rich flavors, culminating with long lingering finish and silky tannins. It
is an elegant wine with a deep red color. It has a concentrated nose with notes
of wild berries, tobacco and vanilla. Mouth filling, with rich black fruit
flavors and a prolonged finish with a touch of black pepper. Full body, yet
shows great tension and finesse.
This 100% Malbec is produced
with grapes from different villages in the Valle de Uco. The 2016 Malbec was
cropped from a cool and rainy year. It fermented in stainless steel tanks after
a cold soak and matured in new and used French oak barrels for 12 months. As
Robert Parker said” I love the nose, which I find to be spectacular,
expressive, open, floral and with a good combination of fruit and spice. The
palate is super tasty, with fine, slightly grainy tannins and nice acidity that
would make it a good Malbec for the table. Simply delicious.” A match made in
heaven with a well-seasoned aged rib of beef, best yet on a wood-fired Asado,
but the wine sings just as well with a classic roast. Aged:80% new French oak
& 20% new American oak for 12 months. Winemaker Mariano Di Paola. Award:
James Suckling 92 | Robert Parker 92
