Cuvelier Malbec 2014 - Malbec

Enter "Malbec" and pops up: Mendoza’s
perfect match. Why? Because it typically requires high amounts of sunlight for
full ripening, which is why most Malbec grapes have lower acidity. However,
when you match these natural characteristics with the sunny, high-altitude
terroir of Mendoza, you have what could be one of the best locations to grow this
grape in the world. The Uco Valley (or Valle de Uco) is known for having some
of the highest elevation vineyards of all of Mendoza, producing wines with
elegance and excellent great aging potential. It’s in this region, Michel
Rolland and some crazy Bordeaux wine producers, including the Cuvelier Family, started
this ambitious project called Clos de Los Siete, in the privileged terroir of
Vista Flores, Valle de Uco of Mendoza. Here the Cuvelier Family named their
estate Cuvelier de Los Andes. This Malbec captures the pure
expression of the grapes of Valle de Uco. For our Varietals range wines, we
wait until our youngest vines are mature enough to produce grapes with enough
complexity to qualify for our top wines. With our Malbec we offer the
distinctive flavors and purest expressions of the emblematic varietal of
Argentina. We produce this wine using the same process, care and love as per
our Colección. Aged 60% in French oak barrels during 11 months. Try it out, you'll fall in love!!! Awards: James Suckling 92 points, Tim Atkins 91 points, Wine Spectator
