Abremundo is the name of a joint venture between Marcelo Pelleriti and Pedro Aznar born of their interlaced passion for music and wine. Together they are creating award winning wines that are named after music notes: Octava Alta, Octava Basa and Octava Superior. This Octava Alta Blanc de Blanc is a new white blend of 60% Chardonnay with 40% Torrontés from Mendoza and La Rioja, respectively, with only one-third of the Chardonnay aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. The Torrontés from La Rioja is a lot less aromatic than the one from Salta, even though it's the same grape; the soils are different here, so is the altitude, and the wines always have a salty character. It's quite subtle in the nose, shy even, and the palate has fruit flavors and a sweet sensation. Medium body, lovely density and a delicious fresh finish. It's great as an aperitif, match wonderfully with sea-salt and a lemon  roast chicken, served with garlic roast potatoes, roasted sweetbreads, Peruvian ceviches, tiraditos and any fish, seafood, or even salad.

It matured for 12 months in new French oak barrels 60%, 6 months bottle aging. Serve between 8-10o C (46°-50°F). Winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti | Pedro Aznar
