This is one fine wine that needs to be decanted before
serving. In a sea of Malbec, this blend from Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, stands out
as an elegant expression of Argentina’s terroir. Agrelo's terroir, where Las
Perdices Winery is located, is considered to be some of the best in Mendoza for
the production of big, complex red wines. This wine is a blend of Malbec (70%),
Syrah (11% ), Bonarda (10%) and Merlot (9%). Elegant aromas of dried plums,
permeated by nuances of chocolate, violets, spices and pepper. At the beginning
it is powerful, with fruits integrated with a woody touch, well balanced
structure with ripe tannin and a succulent finish. Fruit notes combine with the oak to create a
long-lasting, evolving explosion of flavors typical of exceptionally fine
wines.
Excellent accompaniment to game dishes, braised meats and stews. Best
served at 16 -18° C (60 - 64 ºF) . Aged 18 months in new oak barrels, 50%
French and 50% American ,1 year in bottle.
