Get this delivered in 30-60 minPerfect for happy hours. Intense ruby color. Nose is faint with high alcohol subduing some underlying notes of blackcurrant, cherry with subtle pepper notes and soft oak touches. Soft in mouth, nicely balanced, sour cherry and cassis flavors. Once sipped it really comes alive with powerful punches of currant, leather and ripe cherry. Tannins are moderate and the overall structure is slightly better than middle of the road. Finish is memorable but not too persistent. Ideal to serve with red meat, pasta, fish and white meat with spiced sauces. Pairs well with a spicy turkey plate. Aged 8 months in French and American oak barrels. Recommended serving temperature 16-18° C (60 – 64 ºF)
After such long time confined in the bottle, it kinda transformed. It had to breath some before tasting. Then, it was nothing like a young Perdices. Now it got strong lactic notes on the nose. Fig jam, not sweet pepper at all. Something like licorice, maybe. In the end there’s more residual sugar than expected. Very nice! Good pairing with Bolognese Lasagna.
