Marcelo Pelleriti Gran Cuvee Especial 2011 Blend - Blend
This limited edition
blend of 80% Malbec and 20% Cabernet
Franc, features Pelleriti's true passion for nature and terroir. After many
years of making wines internationally and with over 26 vintages of experience,
between Argentina and Bordeaux, France, Marcelo decided to return to the place
where he made his first wine back in 1994, the 110-year-old farm he owns in La
Consulta, Mendoza. Committed to this terroir, he wanted to create elegant wines
and subtly reflect what he has learned throughout the years. The 2011 vintage resulted in wines
of great aromatic intensity, especially fresh, with good acidity and great
ageing potential. Every bunch of Malbec and Cabernet Franc is harvested
manually and de-stemmed by hand. During micro-vinification, the barrel rotation
are carried out by hand on a daily basis. Throughout the process, Marcelo
Pelleriti and his team apply their experience and intuition to define the tasks
necessary to make this exclusive and limited edition. This sophisticated tasting
cuvee, showcases a bright, purplish, ruby red color. Excellent complexity on
the nose, with notes of berries and dark fruit, such as plums, seductive floral
hues of violet, and subtle spicy aromas. Great concentration on the palate,
with savory round firm tannins and well-defined finish. A wine with great
potential, elegant and complex. Aged 24 months in French oak barrels and 5
years in bottles. Ageing potential over 20 years, production 2,100 bottles.
