The origins of the Cuvelier family’s wine exploits begin in Bordeaux in the early twentieth century with the purchase of Château le Crock in St. Estèphe in 1903. But, for many, they are best known for their ownership of Château Leoville Poyferré, which they bought in 1920. In the 1990s, the family spread their wings as they turned their attention to Mendoza in Argentina, working first with Michel Rolland on his Clos de la Siete project. But, by 1999, they had begun to plant their own vineyards - Cuvelier los Andes - and produced their first  original wine, Coleccion under this estate in 2003.

It's a blend of 57% Malbec, 20 % Merlot 11%  Syrah, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon  and 4% Petit Verdot. You can taste the concentration and intensity of a Mendoza wine along with the elegance and finesse of a Bordeaux-blend, polished and well-structured.

This delicious “medium red-ruby color blend is aromatic, expressive nose offers blackberry, licorice, bitter chocolate and a touch of violet. Juicy and tightly wound but still pliant, with lovely energy and shape to the flavors of dark berries, dark chocolate and licorice.
